The department I worked in was toxic. The new employees go through a lot of shaming and ego crushing. If you're looking to build your base in this company it's a bad idea, because afterwards, you will have to go through sometime, re-gaining confidence and getting out of depression. They target smart and serious people and they make them work overtime (overnight) for 7 days in the week. The management's usual argument is that this is the "business culture". They don't care about your health, they don't care if you are in the tube or have technical difficulties, but if you don't respond to their email in seconds you are in a serious trouble. Politics is the only way to go here. We had a very difficult people to deal with. Most of the time was about dealing with your manager's provocative attitude. There is no growth. Salary promotion does not exist. I've been promised one, and never witnessed it. Your colleagues would bully you if they are in tune with the managers, and that behaviour is absolutely supported in the company. You will be pushed to finish things in impossible deadlines of 3 days, where they had 2 months to give you the project. And they will expect you to work in very difficult times, such as until 3am. If they didn't like a previous employee, the successor will be transformed in an image of that previous employee by the company's staff. And if you're a difficult person to handle and not just take punches, you will be fired. There is a lot of unexpected layoffs, and terminations. Sexism and buildup of political opinion. Until this day, I have dreams of my bad experiences with the work and the people there. I developed depression for quite some time which slowed down my development for the next 6 months after working with ChyronHego.
