Pros

- Company is located in Back Bay so depending on where you live in the city, it's a good location - Leads are passed off to sales executive round robin style (although I question this) - The end of every month Kane's donuts are brought in

Cons

- No 401K employer match for the first year; the match after year 1 I believe is 1.5% - I was told through a recruiter that equity is provided at this company but that wasn't the case. 6 or 7 months in management never spoke on this or informed new sales executives on when equity would be provided - Very limited health insurance benefit options -

Thank you for taking the time to write this post. ClearCompany is experiencing rapid growth and we're consistently developing new management infrastructure to support it - including hiring additional managers for the Sales team. We're sorry you felt unsupported by your management team as we strive to provide a supportive and collaborative work environment where everyone can feel successful. This focus on support and success includes a daily continuous improvement session for the sales organization, which is most often conducted by the management team. Our onboarding process for new Sales Executives is designed to allow new employees to build experience with our product starting with smaller deals. Once they have proven success and confidence, they can quickly graduate into larger opportunities. We agree, parts of the HR technology space are heavily saturated with competition, however we believe our G2 Crowd reviews substantiate our confidence in the value of our product: https://www.g2.com/products/clearcompany/reviews. We understand that our smaller clients often have strict budget restraints and we offer competitive entry-level packages to meet their needs. We also offer a variety of competitive benefits including 401k match. This ramps from 1.5% at 12 months to 3% at 24 months +. Additionally, all matches are 100% vested upon match - there is no vesting schedule. We provide Blue Cross Blue Shield Medical, Vision & Dental (90% premiums paid by the company for the employee and employee dependents), Group Life Insurance, Long Term Disability Insurance, Short Term Disability Insurance, Health & Dependent Care Flexible Spending Accounts, generous vacation and sick leave, pre-tax transit and a paid parental leave program.

Pros

*ClearCompany consistently lives up to the first part of its mission statement - Hiring and Engaging top talent. The employees I worked with were (for the most part) incredibly dynamic, positive, and tough individuals who never backed down from a challenge at work and came each day to the office prepared to give 100% *The office environment is generally relaxed yet driven and hardworking *The company will occasionally throw events designed to boost employee morale

Cons

*Upper management at ClearCompany consistently undervalues their employees, and thus fails at the third part of their mission statement: retaining top talent. *Upper management consistently over-promises on reforms to compensation, time off, and improving communication between managers and their employees. They then fail to follow up with these promises, leading to a strong sense of mistrust among their employees. *Employees are nonetheless asked to give 110% to the company, quarter after quarter, year after year. Employees are kept working hard through subtle tactics of pressure and intimidation. This became clear to me as I began to see the smartest, most hard working people at ClearCompany simply leave the organization. *An enormous amount of time is wasted with company wide events and meetings that focus far too much on the company ideology, which is drilled into the employees from their first day on the job. This creates frustration for the employees, as the company is asking them to work very hard and then will take up their work time to do hours of presentations that do not help most of many employees actually complete their daily tasks. Ultimately, this results in time wasted and money lost.

Firstly, thank you for your feedback - as an organization focused on helping our customers become better employers, it’s critically important that we ensure that we are doing the same. You certainly bring up some valid points that ClearCompany is proactively working to resolve. At times, some initiatives to improve employee benefits/compensation were prematurely announced - as of January 2018 the aforementioned promise to reform compensation for employees has been delivered upon for a large portion of ClearCompany employees in addition to some new employee benefit programs that were a welcome surprise to all employees. As we have learned over the past 5+ years, the landscape for a small yet rapidly scaling company in the technology space can be challenging for both management and employees; we acknowledge our faults - we appreciate the efforts that employees put into their roles day after day with the understanding that we must ensure that we are rewarding their efforts and that we continuously strive to provide competitive compensation packages. Internal company meetings are one of the most challenging things to get right when you are scaling - striking the perfect balance between effectively communicating critical information across the organization and making the best use of everyone’s time. In recent months, we have implemented a more formal format, designed to drive more employee participation and value, so that content of those meetings is streamlined and relevant to the attendees. To date, this new format has proven quite successful as we have seen increased awareness and knowledge for employees and have found value in the collaboration that the departmental meetings foster. As ClearCompany continues to grow and scale, we welcome and promote constructive feedback at all levels of the organization and carefully consider how we continually improve services, not only to clients but also to our employees. Thank you again for your feedback - without it, we would not be able to achieve our own mission!

Pros

- They were great to me when they hired me, and great to me when I turned in my resignation. I was extremely pleased with how it all went. - I loved the people I worked with! Never had a problem with anyone! My direct managers were awesome. -Pay was good. However, Commissions are paid a little late in my opinion. - There was a trip planned where they were bringing the entire company to Colorado for a few days. That was very cool of them.

Cons

- It appears that they are trying to sell the company, and that has caused a lot of the leadership to simply "check out". Management doesn't seem to have a plan or motivation. Seems they are just waiting for a payday and not interested in the company long term. - ClearCompany claims to want diversity, however, it has created an environment where one type of political ideology is clearly dominant. If you don't fall under that political ideology, then you will feel like you should keep your mouth shut. HR goes out of its way to promote political discussions in the workplace which I believe is inappropriate. This lead to other employees feeling empowered to say things that are blatantly hateful to people who disagree with this ideology (even things that might go against someone's religious beliefs). If I was interested in moving up in the company, I would be concerned that my own beliefs (religious or otherwise) would have held me back professionally. The biggest example of this was when HR brought someone to run a workshop on diversity and inclusion. The individual who lead the workshop was (in my opinion) out of touch with reality. I went and looked at this individual's social media before the workshop, and it was clear that there was no reasoning behind this person's beliefs. It would be one thing if this workshop was an optional thing, but HR made it mandatory. There were parts of the workshop where they would split us up into groups and had us discuss certain topics the speaker brought up and it was beyond uncomfortable.

Thank you for your honest feedback. We are glad to hear about and that you shared the positive experiences you had with ClearCompany as well as constructive feedback. As with any rapidly scaling company management is tasked with balancing providing support and structure to employees while remaining flexible and nimble in order to quickly adjust to client, business and labor market demands. We are working hard to make processes that are scalable and keep both individual contributors and leadership engaged. Our DEIB efforts are meant to promote honest discussion about DEIB in the workplace and be inclusive of all points of view. We're sorry to hear that was not your experience as we work hard at and take pride in the initiatives we’re rolling out. As we've scaled, becoming a more inclusive company has been a top priority and we acknowledge we haven't gotten it right every time. However, we have involved employees, requested feedback, and made adjustments based on that feedback. The training you refer to was specifically requested by employees and our chosen consultant was interviewed and vetted by our DEI Taskforce before bringing them on board. Please know that Human Resources can and will always be a sounding board to receive feedback and thoughts on DEIB efforts and more. Your feedback helps us with future decisions to help all employees feel valued and included in the workplace.
