I have been working at Cognism full-time for less than a year

    Pros

    - Company is growing fast creating lots of opportunities to take initiatives - Culture promoting doers and a "get things done" attitude - Smart and kind people in the different teams to help each other

    Cons

    - Some management pains related to the strong growth of the business, there is often the need to adjust processes and working habits to reflect the increasing size of the different departments

    Pros

Amazing support network, not just from colleagues directly in your team but company-wide. Quality, comprehensive sales and product training. I honestly don’t know how they do it and teach you so much in such a short space of time, to begin with. Nevertheless, somehow they do, and it works.... it’s some kind of wizardry, I’m sure of it! This isn’t a ‘dog eat dog’ environment. Yes, there is lots of healthy competition but there is definitely no ‘stepping on everyone to get everything for yourself’ mentality here. Everything is fair, we’re all on a level playing field - absolutely love that and couldn’t fault it Fun, relaxed, but also professional atmosphere THE TECH!!! It is something you’re able to genuinely get excited about the more you begin to understand and get to know it which, in turn, really makes this an easier sell for you because you REALLY believe in what you’re selling - win win!

I have been working at Cognism full-time for more than a year

    Pros

    - Senior management believes in everyone they hire and works to ensure their career starts off in the best way it can - Everyone in the team has a 1-2-1 with their direct manager and is also assigned a mentor to help them fit in and ensure we can achieve our best - Personal issues are respected and HR have a comprehensive system that can help employees - The company does so much for the employees which can often go un-noticed - the little things like the fruit, the pizzas on Thursdays, more holiday than required by law, approachable senior management, who to ensure everyone in the company could keep their jobs during COVID 19 took a large salary cut! I want management to know we are grateful for this. - Management is very good at communicating what is going on in the company - from funding rounds to hiring to make everyone feel like we are a part of something bigger Genuinely couldn't have asked for a better place to work.

    Cons

None that I can think of

I have been working at Cognism full-time for less than a year

    Pros

    - Company genuinely cares for employees - Commission and bonus has been paid out in shares because of the current economic market, even senior staff members have taken pay cuts - No staff members have been put on furlough as a result of the pandemic - I have a structured development plan in place and supportive management to help me towards my goals and management has offered to pay for courses - Salaries are competitive - Getting a new office space soon - Generous health/wellness allowance - Weekly pizza (when we were in the office) - Fun culture, regular socials, meals out - Company paid trip to Croatia planned for 2021 - Inclusive and laid back events planned for customer success team such as golf and karaoke - Customer success, tech, product etc (who used to work on the same floor) all work harmoniously together as far as I'm aware and there is equal opportunity regardless of gender or background - Customer success team receives training regularly - Plenty of resources available to learn - Plenty of opportunity to move to different roles and parts of the business - Females in top positions (CRO and CMO) - A great place to learn a lot of new skills, its definitely not boring! - And finally... great colleagues :)

    Cons

The only thing I would write here is it would be nice to be more connected to the sales team (as we were on separate floors) but this should change with new office space hopefully

I worked at Cognism full-time for less than a year

    Pros

    - Opportunity. There is undoubtably opportunity to move up the company and get promoted in your first year if you consistently perform and put yourself forward for stuff, . i.e public speaking opportunities, working international hours and helping your colleagues. - Development. The nature of the product and focus on outbound sales provides a fantastic opportunity to learn everything there is to know about prospecting - a skill that is vital in any sales role. Confidence on the phone increases by the day as a result of the amount of phone calls you make. Management hold weekly training sprints and call reviews, giving you the freedom to adopt your own style. Your team leads door is always open - they don't micromanage nor do they spoon feed, if you are struggling it is your own responsibility to seek extra training! The mentor/mentee scheme is great for your first couple of months. When I was training for my BDM interview, my mentor and other members of the BDM team would give up their own time out of hours and on Sunday evenings to train me. This is indicative of the culture. More on the culture... On the whole, everyone wants you do to well and congratulates you when you succeed. When you book a meeting, or sign a deal, the whole office applauds which creates a good buzz! Being a reasonably small start up, colleagues form friendships and everyone is welcome and encouraged to have a drink after work on a Friday! - Incentives to go abroad. In the past year, there has been trips awarded to Singapore, New York and Las Vegas to those who perform. It's not a case of favouritism, if you perform, you get rewarded. Simple. There is also an upcoming company wide trip to Havar in 2021.

    Cons

    - There seems to be an emerging culture of certain people not being able to take accountability for underperforming. They are very quick to play the victim and start pointing fingers at management and this creates toxicity in the team.

I have been working at Cognism full-time for more than a year

    Pros

    1) Excellent career progression, with quantifiable metrics set in order to go up the ladder 2) Excellent company culture - drinkers and non drinkers are invited to all events 3) Community culture for learning - When you're a new starter, everyone in the team has started from the same place and everyone is willing to give their time to make sure you succeed in your role - new sales people are selling on Day 3! 4) Approachability of Senior Management - Our CEO regularly holds a company townhall in order to ensure we are all completely aligned with plans for the Cognism future. Anybody in the company can be reached via Slack/Email/Call and this level of transparency is great to have 5) Youth of the team - Cognism makes a point to hire hungry, talented individuals - this energy and buzz is something we thrive on 6) Comp package is excellent; this definitely serves as a huge motivation to overachieve as the rewards are uncapped

    Cons

    1) Not everyone has the talent to make it - Sales is a tough gig, and people can be left with a sour taste in their mouth if their colleagues achieve more than them and progress quickly 2) Exit interviews could be held better as ex employees often leave abruptly due to a breakdown in the relationship, have a chip on their shoulder, then leave reviews on Glassdoor grossly exaggerating the truth as they know James (CEO) will respond to them

I have been working at Cognism full-time for more than a year

    Pros

    - Fun team that genuinely support each other. In CS, you can really tell that everyone wants their co-workers to succeed and celebrates each other. - Cognism clients tend to be innovative and fun people to work with. CSMs are exposed to several different types of businesses, and I personally have learned a lot through working with my clients - We run weekly internal training, call coaching and occasional external training for the team. - When the lockdown started in the UK, the CEO immediately set up a company-wide call to assure employees that our jobs are safe - Fun and inclusive socials. For example, Customer success have a weekly book club.

    Cons

No company is perfect and I don't want to create the impression that Cognism is. However, it is well-managed and senior management are good at responding to issues when they are raised.

I have been working at Cognism full-time for more than a year

    Pros

    - My direct manager holds weekly 1-2-1's and I have a clear progression plan (PDP) in place. We have company wide townhalls and are constantly given updates on the business goals/plan. - I have received external and internal training and will continue to do so as my role progresses. It's a role that is constantly changing and adapting to the organisations needs. - Cognism is fast paced and there is always opportunity for growth and development if you work hard. The CEO loves to promote internally when it's well deserved, but will still hire externally if it is the better choice for the business. We have both females and males in Senior Management! - Cognism holds many social events throughout the year to cater for everybody including a sports day in the park last year or game nights. Senior management are often asking for suggestions for future events as well. The Customer Success & Tech Support teams have reward nights such as Karaoke and I know the BDM's went paintballing last year. - We had an off-site to Hvar, Croatia last year and the company are planning for this to happen again in 2021 - this was a lot of fun, so I'm looking forward to doing it again. - The company culture is great, the floors were unfortunately divided in our previous office, so as the company grew it was harder to stay as close. This hopefully will change when we have our new space. Weekly pizza nights helped with this though and often people stayed behind on a Friday for a quick catch up. - We have a wellness allowance to spend each month, get weekly fruit boxes (when in the office), weekly pizza night (when in the office), we have flexibility to work from home or other office locations, we are constantly reminded to take holiday days and there is mental health guidance in place. - The CEO and other Senior Management are always asking for ways to improve and have anonymous surveys. They also have an open door policy and take all issues seriously when raised. - The CEO truly cares about the staff; their happiness and career progression. Hard work is well rewarded! - Covid-19: No staff have been furloughed or made redundant because of Coronavirus, all staff have received their bonuses and commission in share options (which can be swapped if requested), senior staff took a pay cut, we have still been given our wellness allowance, we have been allowed a few Deliveroo nights to make up for the lack of pizza, different teams have held different social events and HR has organised many company wide zoom calls to catch up and keep up company morale. - So many more pros, but overall it's a great place to be!

    Cons

    - We definitely did outgrow the office, but the company are looking at some great new spaces now that will suit the needs more.

I have been working at Cognism full-time for less than a year

    Pros

    - Very clear training and development plan implemented across the SDR team. 2 x Weekly training sprints to cover all different topics of the role, alongside call reviews on Fridays to further enhance your cold calling skills. - Since lockdown, we have daily stand-ups to boost morale and discuss any issues/struggles we are facing that day. We do these 3 times a day and this also keeps the team close and culture alive. - An amazing team full of ambitious and hard-working individuals who are all super supportive of each other's success. - Great commission structure - Fun / laidback culture - Wellness budget every month for you to spend on what you wish (anything from gym equipment, yoga classes etc) - Transparency within the business throughout - Good communication channel if you need help/assistance internally

    Cons

    - Nothing I have seen so far!
