Pros

They'll hire you right out of college. Really (really (really)) casual office environment. Good location. A lot of fun creative types--put in a little effort and you can make some legit friends here. You'll often be pressured to put in extra hours to make up for failures you didn't create, but if you tell them to back off and stick to your boundaries, work-life balance is attainable (this is only a pro if you stand up to your management chain though). Contractors can be converted to full-time if they pursue it aggressively (again, back-handed compliment... if you just expect them to stick to their word, they'll either keep you on contract forever or cut you loose if their financial statements start looking, well, worse).

Cons

Most people who move on to new jobs don't allow a counter-offer. They're that disillusioned with the place--I'd never heard a single person even entertain the idea. So, when I put in my own two weeks, I decided to play ball just to see what would happen (I was on my way out anyway). They offered me a promotion into entry-level management and a raise--their first offer was not only 10k less than my new position, but a raise of less than $1,000 a year. Considering my last promotion resulted in a 2.5% raise, this wasn't shocking--the pay here is miserable. They gave me a second offer, still 5k less than my new position. I found out that my offer for a new role was about FIFTEEN THOUSAND DOLLARS MORE than several women, who'd held the role for two to three years on average, were already making. What started out as a curiosity for me turned up a massive pay gap. That should about sum up how toxic just about every aspect of this company is. Literally pick any red flag that you've seen at your current or previous job, and it's waving high above the Cog.

Pros

casual office attire, Evanston is a nice place

Cons

this company is terrible on all fronts, the way they treat employees (they hire everyone as contractors on a very low salary for 3 months, then they never extend their contracts). There is no structure and everything is messy. Management is inexperienced and unhelpful.
