Pros
- Loved my coworkers and my team, and loved working remotely - Company was very mindful of covid, especially being a healthcare oriented company - The culture was definitely adult and one of ownership - there's no micromanaging and there is an attitude that as long as you get your work done then it doesn't matter how many hours your butt is in the seat - Great benefits, 401k match, good vacation time policy, salary is market rate - The work was very interesting
Cons
- The leadership and management team is too out of touch. There are way too many managers, directors, senior directors, VPs, SVPs, etc at the top and so few indivudal contributors at the bottom of the pyramid actually doing the work and pulling the sled, to the point where the company hierarchy is basically an inverted pyramid shape. Yet the company continued to keep hiring senior leadership roles and refused to hire more invidual contributors, so the actual work ends up falling on sometimes a little as one or two people in the department area - Lots of people have left over the past few years, and the company never hires any new people to replace them - The company LOVES to hire new leadership that has a long background working in large software companies, rather than in similar sized startup environments, so when these leaders come in they immediately making arbitrary changes without the ability to adapt, which was confusing and frustrating for individual contributors - The company is slow to promote internally and does not do a good job of recognizing and rewarding employees who are taking on a lot of responsibility due to other people leaving
