-Unstable employment. If you are hired on now, it would be a good idea to plan in case of an upcoming layoff. Corewell is doing a "joint venture" with Quest Lab. As of January 2026, all Corewell Lab employees are now Quest Employees. Employees hired on before 2026 will keep their pay rates (likely higher than new hires) but will lose all acquired PTO. There will be considerable downsizing once the Reference Lab in Southfield, MI is built in 2027.
