New Company Same Management

Pros

They make you feel like you’re doing a good job, especially those in the “People Department” and any Manager, really. There is a balance and they never forced you to work OT as it’s rarely needed since staffing numbers are off the charts or they just want to impress a new client. They do a good job or making you feel welcome.

Cons

While positivity is helpful and needed, phony positivity sticks out. CEO and his more “senior level” managers were part of another previous company that is the same business model - Win business from competitors by overstaffing and making extreme promises that are not feasible with a standard employment. The overall goal of the business is to “make noise” in their market and look to sell eventually, no real long term thing to grow in and the “C-Level” employees and the 10 other folks at the top are the only ones being taken care of. I won’t be shocked when this company is “merged” with a competitor and the same group will move on to create another company. Just wish management was more honest about their employees and other overall, very quick to talk nasty about you to others in leadership. Senior level not very professional as they release confidential information (including $) at one point by mistake. Hopefully they take some of the advice they give their teams.

Completely toxic and dysfunctional environment

Pros

Decent PTO policies—if you're on a team that respects your time off. Mostly remote work.

Cons

Absolutely no culture whatsoever, except for a toxic hustle and bro culture that makes the environment feel hostile and demoralizing. The leadership team is just inflated egos with zero strategic vision—they're completely disconnected from the reality of the work being done. The lack of direction is staggering, with priorities shifting not just monthly but often weekly, leaving everyone scrambling to keep up while getting no recognition or appreciation for their efforts. Hiring decisions are an absolute disaster, bringing in people who lack the skills or mindset needed to succeed, and career growth is practically nonexistent. Management makes empty promises about annual bonuses that never materialize, constantly moving the goalposts by endlessly delaying performance review cycles to avoid accountability. The environment is chaotic, unstructured, and soul-crushing. Leadership’s inability to execute any sort of consistent strategy leaves employees feeling exploited and undervalued. It’s honestly shocking how dysfunctional and unsustainable this place is—do yourself a favor and look elsewhere.

Thank you for sharing your candid feedback. I appreciate your perspective on our culture and leadership challenges. As someone who joined Covera's leadership team within the past year, I value hearing these insights that help us improve. I am not sure when you exited the organization, but we've been focused on several organizational improvements: We recently implemented a structured career framework with consistent leveling across the organization. Our new Head of Talent Acquisition is working with leaders to create clearer job descriptions and growth paths for each role. I'm pleased to share that we did commit to a timely annual review cycle, including a merit increase for team members who contributed to our 2024 achievements. All employees received written and verbal feedback to support their continued development. In 2024, we launched a formal bonus program to recognize our collective efforts. We've also enhanced our benefits package, which includes fully-covered healthcare options, strong FTO policies, an improved parental leave, and stipends for learning and remote work. Your perspective on our culture is concerning and important for us to hear. Since joining, I've been conducting 1:1 feedback sessions with team members to better understand their experiences. We're committed to building an inclusive environment that reflects our company values in everyday interactions. Regarding strategic direction, we're working with senior leadership to improve communication around shifting priorities and provide better context for decisions. We've made our OKRs transparent and are having regular conversations about progress and adjustments as our landscape evolves. Thank you for taking the time to share your experience. While I understand you've moved on from Covera, I'm always open to further conversation if you'd like to share additional thoughts on how we can continue to improve. Top-down Chaos

Pros

- One Friday off per month - Fun co-workers

Cons

- Micromanagement on everything. Perfect quote from co-worker: "The biggest joke at Covera is that you actually own anything." - Typical day: Upper management has a crazy idea, and you are expected to drop everything to work on it. - Lack of effective priorities. The most common deadlines you will be given are yesterday, today, or tomorrow. - There's some neat radiology AI (like their competitors), but Covera doesn't really have a product. They don't sell the AI directly. They sell the idea of a network of provider groups using their AI to insurance companies. But providers don't want what they offer so they don't participate in the network. Many of the provider groups supposedly in-network don't even know they are in the network. It's a house of cards in the wind.
