      Ambitious company, very supportive and caring culture

      Pros

      The company has a healthy culture of striving for continual improvement that really encourages talent growth and ideas from across the business. The company has an excellent understanding of the fact that staff wellbeing and a positive company culture are crucial in engendering loyalty and high-performance. Best of all, senior management at all levels really welcome input from individuals from across the business, with mechanisms in place to both listen to and act on contributions.

      Cons

      The breadth of the company offer is both a strength and a challenge, in that it requires some mental dexterity to understand in depth all of the areas that the company develops technologies and solutions for.

      The worst job experience in my life

      None, I can't even start working.

      Cons

      The HR department is absolutely incompetent, I have never seen something like this before. They have no idea about the job regulations in Portugal, they either don't know which must a person do for be able for start working in Portugal. I spent a month without working because they were convinced about a person needs the Portuguese National Insurance Number for start working legaly, what it's not true at all. You can start working as soon as you request that number. They sent me to the social security office to making all the stuff related to the NIN by myself, when I can't even speak Portugese, and they knew that. I explain what was happening to a manager and he just told me that "Critical does not provide that kind of help to new starters". Just INCREDIBLE.

      Pros

      Exciting website, recruitment and onboarding experience.

      Cons

      Desks and chairs not as good as other reviews claim. Reality of overstretched and under supported workforce becomes apparent quickly. Culture and development opportunities vastly improved exaggerated - old timers claim it was great before Covid and then management, especially CEO became obsessed with vanity projects, forgetting about the employees.
