No feedback, no guidance, you're on your own

Pros

Remote work, Interesting challenges, AI related.

Cons

A fundamental lack of support and guidance from leadership (product). No goals or metrics provided. You are given autonomy but only to your detriment, when leaders decide you aren't aligned to the goals they never gave you. Employees are contracted through third party SAAS platform so HR processes are non existent. Poor culture from leadership dressing down team members on large calls in an unprofessional way. Micromanaging that wastes work efforts by pivoting away, only after most of the effort and work has been done. Reactive to largest customers building a product around them when they can leave at any moment.

Thank you for sharing your feedback. We're glad you find the work interesting and appreciate the remote-friendly environment. As an ever-evolving startup, we understand the importance of clear goals and objectives. In Q2, we implemented goals and OKRs, and we will continue to update and refine these in Q3 and beyond. Regarding HR processes, we want to assure you that we have established HR practices in place for the past several years and are continually building them out in our employee resources hub. We take your concerns seriously and are actively working on improvements. Your input is invaluable as we strive to create a supportive and positive work culture. Thank you for your contributions and for being part of our journey.

Pros

- great people in day-to-day operations - unlimited PTO - fully covered healthcare expenses - remote work

Cons

- completely disconnected executive leadership who do not understand the true operational state of the business and who make impulsive decisions without informing all departments, leading to a constant state of chaos and confusion. - a toxic environment where executive leadership refuses to listen to the concerns and opinions of employees, playing a constant blame game of holding employees accountable for issues beyond their control. Instead of trying to take a holistic approach and improve the company overall, they would rather make it your fault and throw you under the bus, even to the point of firing those that disagree with their methods and obviously playing favorites amongst which employees they listen to/elevate. - no infrastructure in place to support rapid growth and refusal by executive leadership to create and enforce new infrastructure that would apply to all teams, again creating a company in chaos and constant fire-fighting mode - a mind-boggling lack of communication across different departments who are all completely siloed from each other and are purposefully kept that way by members of executive leadership - a sales team who closes deals with no guardrails in place, setting the delivery arm of the company up for constant failure, which delivery is then held accountable for. Apps are sold that are literally impossible to build, leading to an endless cycle of disappointed customers, failed projects, and refunds. - absolutely no HR or efforts to show value to employees. Expect to get no credit beyond potentially a shout-out in Slack for your successes. And don’t expect anything by way of additional compensation, benefits, or bonuses if you’re on the operations team. - they try to pressure employees to leave positive Glassdoor reviews, even making it a section in the employee handbook and reaching out to ask employees to leave positive reviews via Slack. - overall a company that is internally constantly in crisis, led by a floundering, toxic executive team who will treat you like dirt and make it almost impossible to do your job.

Pros

The product management team was excellent to be a part of.

Cons

Senior leadership outside of product. They would gas light you and micro manage you. The ceo literally would not allow anyone to make a single decision without his input. Many people state he talks down to you.
