Promising future but culture needs to improve

Pros

A lot of talk on here about how great the founders were – but they spent too much money without new money coming in, so regardless of the culture they created, it wasn’t viable. The new CEO has a clear view of where to take the company and this is really positive, it’s a shame people still in the old mindset can’t see this. Colleagues are friendly and helpful across all departments in my experience, there is always someone to help or they know what direction to point you in. I feel positive about the future of the company if the CRO can close some deals.

Cons

Departments are over-stretched in some places but still with high expectations to continue at the same pace as before. People have left and not been replaced on occasion which has sadly meant we have lost a lot of customs experts. Not confident in the CRO, I don’t see any enthusiasm from him to close deals or push the sales team. I see a lot of unmotivated and worn out sales people which definitely isn’t their character and this is a real shame. I don’t trust HR due to personal relationships with team members, nor do I trust their capabilities in the role due to recent issues. for some reason they have a hold on management and they can't see the problems. We are told if we don’t like it we can leave which is so demotivating and makes you feel worthless and like the management don’t care about you. Some sexism from someone in the C-level team - it's very obvious and needs to change.

Pros

- Most colleagues are friendly and approachable - Company mantra of "We're in this together", which temporarily gives you hope - Very diverse company with colleagues from around the world - Monthly company meet-ups and frequent weekly social events (drinks, meals, catch-ups) - Some transparency to the wider company on goals, targets, and finances (although not all information is shared) - Competitive benefit packages

Cons

- Under-staffed departments leading to excessive workloads - Excessive workloads leading to frustrated and demotivated staff - Demotivated staff leading to high staff turnover - Extremely broad and disorganized product roadmap - Lack of meaningful support, making difficult work issues even worse - Some poor communication and lack of initiative from senior management

Pros

The founders of the company have given young professionals the opportunity to build op a team and have empowered them to take initiative and drive the company towards success. This has created the most unique work environment and inclusive culture where all talents and perspectives are recognized. This culture has led to a top notch product, #1 in the customs landscape.

Cons

The recent changes in management due to the VC investors have completely changed the company towards a cold and unfocused product company. The C-level is male dominated showing signs of misogynic behaviour, conflicts of interest and lack of integrity. There is no sign anymore of cross-department collaboration which is affecting the customers in the end. It's a very sad story to see how this company is declining despite of the efforts to move past this by the founders and some key members of the organization.
