"Was a great place to work"
StarStarStarStarStarI worked at DRI for more than 5 years
Pros
The company had a flat structure, the work environment was extremely friendly, and it was quite a pleasure to work with the people there.
Cons
While the flat structure was a positive thing about the company, it was also the source of it's HR problems. There was no established feedback system in place, and so you were more or less left on your own to walk up and talk with management.
Advice to Management
There's not really anything to give advice for as the company has closed doors. So many things could and should have been done differently.

RecommendsPositive OutlookI worked at DRI for less than a year
Pros
Best balance with life and respect for employe I had ever experience from a company in Portugal. Relaxed enviroment, friendly colleagues, lots of company promoted events. A family outside family. Very friendly towards employees with kids. Great effort to implement the best of the best processes for software development and project management. Strive for perfection and detail. Agile practitioners.
Cons
The codebase and business value is around PHP, but it does provides great challenges, due to the complexity and scale of the work.
Advice to Management
Technological challenges are a must, and there should be more, to provide confidence in developers that, after a few years they'll have market value, and confidence to become proficient in several areas of expertise. Outdated technologies and codebases, bring the feel that one is losing years off life, by dwelling in past ideas, that are long gone. Although the deeper insight, tells me that great experience and... value comes out of it, the surface feeling, says its not worth it.
