Great juniors, weak partners, bad career move

Pros

They tap some emerging markets talent pools that the big three overlook and thus have some really great juniors. Good social life. Weekend packs are glamorous, not a bad set up. Exotic travel, if you like PNG and Afghanistan.

Cons

Partners are uninspiring, advice is simply not robust. DP take a lack of work-life balance to a different league. Note, it's rumoured that HR write fake reviews on glassdoor to keep the stats up - treat the glowing reviews on here with caution, particularly from current employees...

Great potential, but wrong people

Pros

- Strong product mix, consulting / corporate finance is very relevant for topics here in the emerging and frontier markets - Great and smart junior cohort (bonding, etc., was genuine) - Interesting, intellectual projects, in *interesting* locations (i.e. Pakistan, Afghanistan, etc.), which can set you up nicely for the next step in your career - Good pay and benefits (more or less equal to MBB in the Middle East)

Cons

- Not much brand recognition, the best people (especially at the junior- and mid-levels) quit - Mid- and Partner-level staff. Quality at the top is a major, major issue here, especially with the Partners. No robust suggestions on a case, limited knowledge of the deeper issues and a complete inability to understand context. Some are outright aggressive and unpleasant to work with - Cultural *preferences* - if you are not part of the Catalan group (or can't speak Spanish), then forget it, you are done here. There is simply no way through, regardless of how well you perform on challenging cases. You will hear a lot of people saying that is no longer the case, but believe me, it still is... - Some cases are in dangerous locations - simply can't believe that the management team haven't understood risk profiling yet (goes back to the second point)

Thank you for taking the time to express your views and feedback. We value the opportunity to hear how we can continue to improve as a company. We are a global business with an array of different nationalities working with us and that is reflected in the Partnership. In the past year, we have added partners from the US, UK and Asia to complement our current leadership team which features people from South African, Croatia, Belgium, Pakistan and Singapore, to name a few. This diversity allows our boutique to work with tier 1 clients in both developed and emerging markets. Thank you again for sharing your feedback and if you would to share nay additional thoughts with us directly, just send us an email. We wish you the best!

Pros

Smart team members, but I guess this is everywhere in consulting Opportunity to travel a lot to client site if you like travelling If you're interested in TMT, it's a good place to learn about the sector

Cons

Toxic work environment, where work-life balance is completely disregarded and neither partners or HR have any regard for consultants and their well being Very spanish/ catalan focused
