Pros

Semi-regular hours, good location for commuting. Large office & staff. Good option of nearby food options.

Cons

Upper management was notorious for treating all employees in a petty & condescending manner. This was particularly true of the Branch Manager: he had a few chosen employees well outside his purview that he would repeatedly harass. HR was reported to several times due to his behavior, no action was taken. The company would perform "work anniversary recognition" office meetings 2-3 times a year. After the event had ended, upper management would frequently call in employees that were recognized to fire them to avoid any pay increases. During my stay here, I saw this happen a minimum of 8-10 times. Employees began leaving this branch for their direct competitor after the trend became apparent.

Pros

Nice people, good work/life balance

Cons

Upper management is unfair and only views you as an asset, there is a lack of structure and communication from others in terms of work expectations

Pros

None - pay was well below the mean

Cons

- Cliquish work environment: you will be sidelined very quickly if someone in management (who didn't have a say in hiring you) doesn't like you. - Use of performance criticism as a mechanism for disarming employee complaints of mistreatment and discrimination: any attempt to register complaints against a microagressive coworker will be immediately countered with criticism of your performance or you "not being a team player". - Failing upwards works only if you are a "bro;" otherwise, it gets you fired: An engineer who regularly screws up plan sets and calculations does it again; so, management demands that I take his drawings and calculations fix them, and keep his stamp on the plans. While this should be no issue, especially if a plan set was rejected and has to be resubmitted, its not fair that I not receive recognition. When this happened too many times, I complained, then the "performance criticism" and HR jargon started. - Thumbs on the scale for certain people to advance - like the case above, it appears that you will break your back and have your accomplishments deliberately overlooked in order to make another person stand out. If you find that one of your colleges is being celebrated for the same accomplishment you achieved time and time again, you will be told by management that it is the "minimum expectation for performance." There's really no humanism or empathy.

Pros

Hard to say. Very bad experience.

Cons

My experience with this company has been extremely disappointing from day one. Upon arrival, I was informed that the position I was originally hired for was no longer available. I was told I would need to either accept a different, more labor-intensive role or consider transitioning out—this after I had already declined other offers to accept this position. To make matters worse, I was assigned to management that showed no empathy or understanding of the situation. Instead of offering support, they placed me in one of the most physically demanding areas of the project without any consideration for my background or the original job I was promised. The work environment is highly micromanaged, especially for new employees. There’s a clear lack of trust and autonomy, and it quickly becomes stifling. Despite multiple complaints from staff about certain individuals contributing to high turnover, no action is ever taken. Concerns fall on deaf ears, and employee well-being is clearly not a priority. This has been, without question, the worst professional experience of my career. I would not recommend this company under any circumstances.
