Pros

Lacroix, good benefits, some smart people

Cons

I got fired because a bunch of the younger editors were gossiping about me having gotten into graduate school, which they found out by stalking my partner's social media. I was fired at 7 pm on a Friday after having just returned from a work trip. So that's the kind of company Dose is.

Toxic and Clueless. Do Not Work here

Pros

* Wonderful, talented coworkers * Office snacks and weekly lunch delivery * Fantastic benefits

Cons

* The leadership team of 4-5 people are frauds. They have no idea what they're doing, nor do any of them have any agency, marketing, or advertising background. It often feels like they're playing "business." Management decisions are personal and grounded in ego, not reason. * As a product of their ignorance, leadership compensates by micromanaging and treating employees like incapable, valueless burdens. * The leadership team is fickle, so every couple of months a new idea becomes the company business model, resulting in mass layoffs. *When concerns are brought to management, they're met with annoyance or place blame on the person with concern. It results in long-term villainizing of the person trying to open a dialogue. *There's no opportunity to learn from your manager because they likely have no idea how your job works. Glorified copy editors manage analysts and videographers having never touched a camera or fully grasping data. However, they have plenty of baseless feedback for these groups, making them out to be the failures. * Leadership is not open to hearing your ideas. *Dose presents itself as progressive. It's not. It's embarrassing to work here. Not because of the talent, but because everyone in charge is so obviously incompetent and you're treated terribly by a group of young, clueless nobody's. *Oh, and there's no HR.

A Chimera Company, No Direction

Pros

* Excellent pay * Terrific benefits package * Snacks / lunches if you like that * Polite people

Cons

* Little to know sense of clear purpose and direction for the company, even for a start-up culture. Expect confusion. * Chicago-based editorial department determines what content is created in the LA video office and has little-to-no experience in digital video or film. Creativity will be limited. * Resources are limited, few editors, no shooters, no studio space on site. Expect to work regular OT at night and on weekends with no additional compensation. * Zero opportunities for career growth. HR is vague about this even from the beginning. * Management is erratic, unpredictable and condescending. Expectations are not expressed clearly in any way and employees often get caught in the crossfire without knowing why. * Odd internal politics which are confusing and hard to navigate. * Turn-over is extremely high in the LA office.
