Pros

-Interesting and innovative tech -Very smart and talented employees -Location and office space -Unlimited vacation

Cons

I don't always think reverting to a Glassdoor review is the best option, but when your employees are told to basically get off the bus, or your'e not cut out for a startup for bringing up valid concerns or complaints you're really just forcing people to go outside of the company walls to have their voices heard. Even though I wouldn't be surprised if this review gets a comment from HR about how they wish people would have come to them first. (Like you'll see in other negative reviews). But maybe they've seen how bad that looks and have stopped doing that. You're making a culture where people don't trust HR or leadership because they've seen people get slowly pushed out for not drinking the kool-aid 24/7. Tha'ts not anything new either. It's been this way for a while. Leadership tries to be authentic but all you hear from the CTO is how he knows Jeff Bezos and the CMO and him are friends from before so it's basically a bro's club. They decided to split up the two companies officially (Drip and Leapdages) and let the CFO from Leadpages manage that side of the company and he's the only one I think who knows his stuff and is trying to do all he can to salvage a dying company and clean up the messes that the rest of the leadership team caused. I don't think anyone left in HR has any real HR background and they hardly seem human or genuine. Telling people you're a company that works hard and plays hard is just a red flag. It's like you're expecting them to do whatever they can for the company and in return you give them some happy hours or company outings. How about you invest that money in providing better health benefits? They talk about being scrappy and how working at a start-up is a lifestyle choice but that's just to cover up the fact that they don't know what they're doing other than burning cash at an alarming rate on whatever new marketing campaign they want to shove down people's throats. The company has always focused on marketing a product that is not able to do what they say it can. Marketing is always the main focus but if you don't deliver a product that does what it says it should do you'll only keep making angry and upset customers that will leave for one of the many other competitors out there.

Hi! Almost everything has changed about Drip in the past 12 months and the changes are not for everyone. We have lost some people and it's true, we have encouraged some others to leave when it's become clear that this is not the right environment for them. That being said, we've also hired some really amazing people (almost 100 people now!) most of which are thriving and growing (we have a 28.5% internal promotion rate!). For Drip to be successful, we need a team of people that love learning and growing, which means things are not always documented or defined - we're building the plane while we're up in the air. Drip is a high growth startup where everyone is empowered to solve problems and make improvements. Some people don't operate well in environments that are fast-paced, ambiguous, and constantly changing (growth requires frequent change) and that is ok, but you probably won't like working at Drip then. We're not perfect, and we do make mistakes, but we care hard about our team and customers and so far we're growing fast and doing our best to get better every day.

Pros

The talented team behind the actual product.

Cons

If you didn’t eat and drink the organic Kool-Aid or questioned the direction of strategy, you would be swiftly eliminated. People Ops “endearing” themselves to the masses by partying with the C-suite team and openly tossing out F-bombs to be “approachable.“ Lack of diversity, focus on ability to be a “yes” man to the CEO.

Pros

-20 hours a week is considered full time -Leaderless (current mgmt team is too busy figuring out which party bus we'll use at our next outing) -Office Snacks -Good people at the Grunt level

Cons

-HR and Mgmt try manufacture a positive culture but fail to realize they are ultimately the biggest problem. Employee's know when you're completely fake and have no idea what you're doing. -The two below reviews were almost assuredly written by our 'ace' HR team, makeup reviews so you can look good? -Drip is suppose to be the new growth engine here (but one of the founders is already gone?) -Spin from management will make your own head spin. One day the spin factory will catch up with them. -Inauthentic, immature, and untrustworthy Mgmt team, comprised of career business politicians chosen by the ousted previous CEO who's now Chairman of the Board -Disagree with current mgmt, you'll be looking for a new job -If you have start-up experience your word will be heard like it's straight from God's mouth, if not, you will be attacked, demeaned, and hit with condescension, making you feel like you're a worthless POS. -Mgmt team lacks any credible core values because they are career politicians and probably don't even know what they stand for in the first place. -Some members of mgmt and the HR team lack actual real-world experience. -This is a train wreck that's bound for a head-on collision unless the Board acts, which they won't.

Hi! Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback! I really wish that you would have spoken to your manager or someone on the People Ops team before you left – I think we could have cleared quite a few things up for you and taken action to correct any mistakes we've made (we’re growing really fast; we’re rebuilding, repairing, and trying to improve things as we go!). I'd like to address each concern here, but please feel free to reach out to me directly (https://www.linkedin.com/in/ashleylundquist/) if you'd like to chat through things in more detail. - It would be really cool if we could somehow manage to get a full workload executed in a week, but we’re a lean team and we’re hustling pretty hard. The average work week is 40+ hours, but we don’t track hours (exempt employees) or even have “set” office hours. - We’ve had some really fun events, including a party bus (highly recommend the ‘Black Diamond’), but unfortunately our management team can’t take credit for that. We have an awesome Employee Experience team (fka Ops) that plans everything from our weekly lunches and happy hours to holiday parties and volunteering events. - We have LOTS of good people here. We would not be who we are or where we are without all of the amazing people we have on our team. Grunt level is not a thing here – honestly, we all do ‘grunt’ work (we’re an early-stage, lean team). - People Ops and our leadership team work really hard to support a positive culture that fosters growth, impact, and fun (our Guiding Principles). The goal is to support and enable, not manufacture. We send out quarterly surveys to assess how people are feeling – your feedback would have been so helpful in a constructive setting. We fully recognize that we make mistakes and we’re always striving to grow and do better. - You’re most certainly right, one of the reviews was written by me! :-D I recently opened this page and kicked-off the first review. As you know, all employees (and former employees) are welcome to fill out honest and transparent reviews too! Our People Ops team doesn’t identify as an ‘ace’ team, but we are working really hard to make sure that people are happy and have what they need to do their best work and live their best lives. The company has been through A LOT of changes, and we have a long way to go, but we remain focused on improving, growing, and trying to make an impact in our team’s and customer’s lives. - Drip IS a growth engine – and it’s SO exciting! In general, it’s pretty typical for founders to hop off the bus at some point after an acquisition. We’ve been really fortunate to have, and continue to have, good relationships with the founders and their continued support. - We’re a rapidly growing company. We put our customers’ needs first, which means we’re constantly changing, innovating, pivoting, and hustling. So yes, there’s a lot of change and heads will definitely spin – we fully recognize that this type of environment is not for everyone. There are a lot of AMAZING opportunities in Minneapolis and Utah that have more consistency and structure, if that’s what you’re looking for. - Our former CEO wasn’t ousted and he didn’t choose our Senior Leadership Team. There are a handful of press releases you could check out that would get you up to speed, assuming you weren’t in any of the company all hands where we talked about this openly and directly. Also, no one in the entire company has a background in politics nor do we operate in that type of environment. - We intentionally hire people that challenge the norm as well as respond well to constructive challenge. It’s the only way to grow. - We value all opinions and perspectives, and again, thrive off of constructive challenge – it’s how we grow. We have zero tolerance for aggressive/abrasive behavior. - Our Senior Leadership team has real world experience from previous roles at GoDaddy, Backcountry.com, Houzz, Amazon, and more. Every person on the team was vetted fully on everything from their approach to leadership and alignment with our guiding principles to their passion for our customers to their expertise within their function. We welcome and encourage feedback (we have tools and surveys in place for this) and would have loved to address any problems you were seeing, head on, while you were here. - We have reputable and experienced investors that would most definitely take action if they saw a problem. Our team and our Board are really optimistic and excited about the growth we’ve seen and the growth that is yet to come.
