Pros
Interesting industry that is highly regulated yet evolving little by little across the country. Clearly a high opportunity to transform how alcohol is purchased/untapped market. Brand strives to be relevant, fun and useful although hasn't quite figured out long-term value props, especially in the midst of emerging competitors. Legacy employees (pre acquisition) are brilliant, hardworking and believed in the value of the product.
Cons
Very disjointed teams with varying priorities and levels of urgency to tackle persisting issues in both process and product roadmaps. Most individuals feel as though they are trying to keep their head above water, drowning in backlogged work and backfilled roles. Compensation is not competitive and the most talented, entrepreneurial employees are taking external opportunities. New hires coming in are "bodies" filling roles that have been open for months and are struggling to make sense of unclear responsibilities/ongoing projects. There is not an understanding across the org where the business is going post acquisition and leadership doesn't seem equipped to address the chaos both at the top level of the company and within individual teams that have been struggling.
