    Doesn't Recommend
    Negative Outlook
    Disapproves of CEO

I worked at EDF full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Good rates of pay and flexible working

    Cons

The site I worked at Sizewell is located in the remote part of Suffolk because they don’t want to put a nuclear reactor near a densely populated area. That has the issue that the company has problems in getting talent to up stick and move to the area. That leaves it open for existing employees to get their inbred families and friends into the jobs that are going. So you can be in the situation I was having a very... inbred young lady from Saxmundham (who thought Birmingham was in Scotland) who’s equally inbred father got her into the job making life hell for people she decided do not deserve to be employed and making sure her family spread the word to the entire site so you are effectively send to Coventry by the entire site and you are forced to pack up and leave..

    Advice to Management

Get rid of the inbreeds and break up the families that have a massive say in who gets employed because HR are not the ones who decide who gets employed....

    Negative Outlook
    No Opinion of CEO

I worked at EDF full-time for more than 10 years

    Pros

Friendly teams, supportive terms and conditions, large variety of roles and possible to has been possible to have a long term career.

    Cons

Slow to make decisions, changing culture to be less supportive more recently and cost cutting changes hitting hard - they seem to have forgotten the people!

    Advice to Management

EDF Energy used to be supportive and caring with good opportunities, but employee experience is now being neglected for commercial value decisions - the pendulum has swung to far the other way. Time for a rethink!
