Pros

Nothing great to say for Pros

Cons

Worst company ever. They sell dreams before you start working and when you start working you discover that they are liars. They don't give new comers the opportunity to learn and grow. No team spirit and very boring company. I strongly discourage people to work there. TOXIC ENVIRONMENT where employees talk behind your back along with managers

Pros

I’ve had the pleasure of working at ELCA Mauritius for several years and my experience has been overwhelmingly positive. The company offers a dynamic and collaborative work environment where creativity and innovation are encouraged. My team members and managers are always supportive, The leadership team is approachable and genuinely cares about employees' well-being and development. There are ample opportunities for career growth, and the company invests in training and skill development to ensure we stay ahead in the ever-evolving tech industry. I truly feel valued as an employee, and the company culture fosters a sense of belonging and teamwork. Overall, ELCA Mauritius is an exceptional place to build a career, and I’m excited for the future here. Highly recommend it to anyone looking for a supportive and growth-oriented workplace!

Cons

Greater exposure to a variety of technologies, including AI, within the center.

Pros

Working at ELCA has been valuable experience, especially in terms of professional development and personal growth. One of the key highlights is the Elcademy program, which plays a crucial role in recruiting fresh graduates and preparing them for success in multiple domains such as software development and testing. The program also includes structured coaching and career planning, helping young professionals shape their path towards becoming future technical experts or project leaders. The company places a strong emphasis on continuous learning and upskilling. Employees are encouraged to pursue certifications, attend internal workshops, and explore cross-functional skills. Whether you are in a technical role, functional domain, or support function, there are many opportunities to grow and expand your expertise. Another strength is the diverse and multicultural work environment. Collaboration across different regions (Switzerland, Vietnam, Mauritius, and beyond) creates a rich, inclusive culture that values global perspectives and teamwork. Working across time zones and cultures has helped many of us improve not just our core skills, but also our communication, adaptability, and interpersonal effectiveness. What also stands out is the company’s commitment to quality in delivery. Regardless of the project or department, there is a shared drive to meet high standards, improve processes, and stay aligned with industry trend - particularly in areas such as automation, AI, and digital transformation. I also appreciated that we could contribute using our past experiences in other areas like recruitment and staffing. The company does take time to understand employee strengths and aspirations, and there is an overall effort to align work assignments with individual career goals.

Cons

There is room for improvement when it also comes to reward and recognition. While many employees work hard and show strong capabilities, there doesn’t always seem to be a clear distinction in how promotions and salary increments are handled. At times, it feels like everyone at the same level is treated equally, regardless of individual performance. A more structured and transparent approach to promotions would help retain talent and motivate high performers. Currently, opportunities to represent the company at external events or training courses are mainly given to managers. It would be valuable to extend these opportunities to employees (across senior levels and above) who show interest and potential, allowing them to showcase their skills, gain exposure, and bring back new knowledge and perspectives to their teams.

Worst Company Ever

Pros

If you want free parking, you can join this very bad company.

Cons

Very bad management. Managers do not have any leadership skills. They micromanage and put lots of pressure. HR and Managers have there favorite employees who get promoted each year. Some employees are only good in talking, presenting useless things and acts as tutors when they know nothing and gets promoted. No flexibility at all. Went to office during covid, when all other companies were on WFH. Forced employees to come to office even when sick. Very Toxic environment.

Pros

Parking space. Free stationary. Fruits every week.

Cons

1. When you are on probation, you get 0 work from home. When you get confirmed, you get 1. But the 1 WFH is automatically cancelled if you take a sick, a local or if there was a public holiday during that week. If you really need a WFH and can't make it to office, you have to send a mail to HR and wait for their approval. It's not your manager who approves of that, it's the HR. 2. Expect to be micromanaged. 3. They advertise themselves as flexible with working hours on their LinkedIn page but it is not the case. 4. When management tells you that you are eligible for any monetary compensation, always ask it in written because they are all talk and so forgetful. 5. Negotiate for a good salary package when you go. Do not expect too much from the performance bonus. It might only go to 2K max.

Pros

Nothing i can think of, maybe some of the coworkers were nice

Cons

Absolutely a disaster, the stress level is enormous, there are not enough engineers and technical people, unlike managers, there are a lot of managers who are useless (they have invented new positions just to hire a new manager) most of the time they don't have no idea what to do, so they tend to stress the engineers to justify their salaries. There is no career growth, besides all the suggestions you propose come to nothing, they don't want to change because they will have to fire most of the managers. HR is inexistent and arrogants. Basically, never think about working there if you want a good career and a happy place to work.

Pros

- Range of experts, both in Mauritius and in other centers and who are always ready to help and coach. - Very good benefits (Fully paid parking, fully paid insurance with 5M catastrophe, Contribution to private pension, annual leave from first day, 1 day WFH, ...) - Very interesting projects and always the latest technologies. - Management who are always open to talk and discuss on our issues (good people touch). If we have any problem, we can always discuss with immediate supervisor and they are very supportive. - ELCAdemy, the breeding ground for future developers - Coaching on career path to become an excellent future developer or manager - Different track (Architect, Expert, Managerial) which does not limit evolution of people - International exposure - Travels to Switzerland for projects & tech days. - Merit-based promotion - If you excel in your projects, meet your annual objectives & display the right professional behaviour in line with the ELCA values (COLLABORATIVE, TRUSTWORTHY, COMMITTED), promotions come quickly, ensuring a fair and rewarding career path.

Cons

ELCA encourages collaboration by fostering 80% office presence (translating to 1 day work from home) which is very good, especially for juniors and university freshers and this reinforces their core value "Collaboration". However, the policy could be more flexible with regards to leaves and public holidays.
