    Pros

    Great staff to work alongside. Everyone has each others back. Good training.

    Management needs some work and taught how to be people centered, Not stat focused.

    Pros

    Communication & Support has been well co ordinated during the pandemic. There has been lots of initiatives in place to support the people within the services. The use of IT to communicate with colleagues and other agencies has been essential and well supported. Staff in regional offices have continued to support people and staff during the Covid crisis providing continuity and support for all when required.

    Cons

    Pension contributions by the company could do with being increased for managers who have long term service.

    Pros

    DBS paid for, thorough training for support workers, shadowing and mentoring from more experienced staff before going on shift alone. Staff benefits scheme including shopping discounts, well-being checks and free 24 hour counselling hotline Plenty of opportunities to try different roles in the company (currently on my 5th role since 2010) Eden have always trained and supported people to grow in to management roles if they want to Roadshows and Managers conferences for sharing ideas, good practise and building supportive networks with others in the same role Written recognition across the company, from other employees (including the CEO) when a job is well done

    Cons

    Its the same as any job in care: shifts can be long, rotas can change, staff shortages and turnover of support staff (the same across the nation) working christmas/new year and bank holidays

    Pros

    It is nice to work with service users.

    Cons

    Unfortunately there are many things wrong with this organisation. Historically it was a nice person-centred care company, however this has changed. Eden aquired many care homes up and down the country so they could try and be competitive and make money on the volume of clients as opposed to supporting a smaller number of complex people. The company did not have the skills to carry this out successfully, and consequently the care standards have fallen way below an acceptable standard. The staff turnover is amazingly bad, team managers receive zero training and concequently don't have the skills to do the job, the senior management pile more and more responsibilities on to the ground floor staff who simply get burned out. Out of 12 month period my pay was incorrect 7 times and on each occasion it took over a month to be resolved, the company will do their best to 'fob you off' when it comes to anything regarding money. This company has very poor ethics so if you want to feel supported and rewarded in your job then this is probably not the place to apply.

    Pros

    Service users are great and the environment within the team are good. High level of training from the start. Bottom tier managers are generally good at their jobs, they do the best they can with the resources provided to them. I see managers working on shift all of the time, and they end up doing their manager work in their own time.

    Cons

    Higher management - area managers, regional directors and above, are not doing or seeing enough of behind the scenes. They expect unreasonable outcomes from staff and do nothing to support.

    Pros

    We get an opportunity to make a difference that we take care for every day. We are recognised and supported by the management team to succeed within our areas. We have the opportunity to grow within our roles and build a career with the company. We are given the opportunity to get qualifications which is paid for by the company. I get to spend time with some amazing people.

    Cons

    The on call can be long when having difficult days. Work load can be allot and demanding how ever this will happen in every company. Dont always feel support or appreciated by some of the executive team.
