Pros

My coworkers at EMA were fantastic. I enjoyed the work environment there and the offices were nice.

Cons

The management does not respect the wants of their employees and they take advantage of the work of their Scientists, which is the majority of the workforce. The disparity in pay between the owners and the rest of the employees is very large, and the reasoning behind individual employee’s incomes are not justified. For example, I was promoted to the position of RF engineer with a salary of $68k/year, and I later found that a new employee that I trained as an RF engineer was given $84k/year to do the exact same thing. Also, when I was let go, the company refused to fill out the necessary forms for me to receive my unemployment benefits. I would highly advise against working here.

Thank you for taking the time to share about your experience with EMA. We strive to create an inclusive work environment where everyone is treated with respect. Different projects have different timelines, and there is a clear expectation that sometimes extra work is needed to meet a customer's need. With prior notice and ample communication, we work with our staff to ensure needs of all parties involved is met. Our salaries match staff member’s levels of experience, and we list these salaries clearly on job postings. Any and all paperwork requested is completed in a timely manner; however, EMA has no control on the speed that third parties may communicate when paperwork is completed or get back to the end user. Our benefit package is clearly outlined during the interview process and is incorporated into our Employee Handbook that staff have full access to. Our policies and procedures are clear and concise for working from home and PTO. Questions are always welcomed by both your functional manager and the entire management team!

Pros

Lots of interesting projects and very knowledgable people to work with.

Cons

Pay and benefits seemed to lag behind industry standards. Admin/HR roles had concentrated power that was restrictive for individuals and the company.

Pros

*Wide variety of different clients and programs to work for *Being able to flex time within a calendar month instead of only within a two week pay period is a huge help for managing time and work/life balance *A lot of autonomy for staff, combined with a deep bench of expertise to draw on whenever you get stuck or need to brainstorm *This shouldn't need to be said, but everyone here genuinely treats each other with respect, from the top down. I've worked for a number of different engineering companies, big and small, where that manifestly wasn't the case

Cons

*Employee handbook is outdated *Some benefits are below industry average, but that seems to be improving
