Pros

Work-life balance, employee offsites for team planning and "bonding"

Cons

I have experienced distinct patterns of discrimination and favoritism despite the company's stated commitment to fostering a diverse and supportive workplace. One of the most glaring disparities is the lack of diversity in various teams and departments, which are predominantly white, as are the majority of managers and senior leadership. This lack of diversity contradicts the company's supposed commitment to inclusivity and only serves to perpetuate a homogenous and exclusionary culture. I have noticed Alma constantly promoting certain individuals without merit, further entrenching inequities and undermining employee morale. The biases in recruiting and hiring are another major cause for concern, and it is evident that this contributes to Alma's homogeneous culture. Whenever I provide feedback or ask questions to the leadership of Talent, it is met with outright dismissal, unnecessary run-around, and data. Feedback to Alma's DEI (Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion) leadership is met with evasive discussions and a clear lack of awareness and ability to make significant changes. Although Alma offers the significant benefit of remote work, I find it much simpler to accept that Alma is like every other tech company. They provide company merchandise for "company engagement," promote and retain poor managers and leaders, make many promises without taking any action, and target people who speak out and challenge the organization to do better.

Pros

A paycheck. I can honestly find no other pros.

Cons

High performers are looked over for promotions and favoritism is what drives the culture. Horrible work/life balance if you are not management due to the metrics they continue to increase with little to no raises. Benefits slowly getting taken away and "perks" are pretty much non-existent or are limited and cumbersome. Overall the culture is horrible. You feel pressured daily to complete metrics that are unreasonable to ensure you never exceed. Raises are .50 and do not even start to cover inflation or your worth. Both your mental and physical health will suffer. If you think that because Alma is a Mental Health company they will care, I can assure you they don't. Even stated in All Hands meeting "This is not a Mental Health company" when an employee mentioned concern for the culture and their Mental Health. "We are a Health-Tech company".
