Pros

50% Discount on merchandise on Athleta, Gap, Old Navy and Banana Republic.

Cons

Working for Athleta NYC Upper East Side was one of the worst jobs I've ever had. You would think this job would be a fun environment due to the fact that it revolves around health, fitness, fashion, and the empowerment of women but it's the complete opposite. This location is drenched in drama and complications. The managers and associates are extremely passive-aggressive, you can't even ask a simple question about daily goals without someone giving you an attitude. The managers have the tendency to micromanage your every move and if you step away for a second to assist a customer, they will scold and embarrass you in front of everyone. Even the managers even have a power struggle going on within themselves and when an associate does a task one manager told them to do and the next manager doesn't like it, instead of addressing the manager they want to bad mouth you when all you were doing was following instructions. Being a leader is to lead by example and help the development of your team but these managers do everything in their power to make you feel that your whole existence is nothing. Also the hours here are horrendous a typical part time position usually ranges from 15-20 hours but they barely even gave me 8 hours. Such a terrible place to work don't even waste your time and effort in this place.

Pros

Very black & white on policies. You always know what is right or wrong.Operationally strong company that allows movement between brands. Decent pay if you advocate for yourself as an external, but don’t expect much once you’re in.

Cons

Company has changed direction so much since COVID. Seems like there’s no clear idea on who we are anymore.Senior leadership feels like a revolving door that only succeeds in spinning tires with no traction. We love to initiate something only to either sunset it months later or leave it in limbo(WellPro). The amount of stress pushed on stores to meet credit goals is absurd to the point it inspires unethical behaviors in certain stores.
