Pros
Work from home option 5 days a week still available. Management encouraged staffs to come to the office but was not mandatory while other Downtown core insurance companies implemented hybrid work model. Hoteling office concept. Work diversity is there for mid-management level and lower ranked employees; yet this need some work at the upper management level. Employee voices are heard through their frequent surveys and positive changes are made to work benefits as a result. Cafeteria is conveniently included at the Markham office. Many engaging and fun employee events. Some friendly and encouraging staffs here and there.
Cons
Majority of the mid-management and c-level individuals had no sense of urgency. They ignored deadlines even multiple reminders were delivered. Due to their poor work ethics, it caused significant delays, unexpected (unpaid) overtime and mental stress in the work of their team/subordinates - there was no work/life balance as advertised. Standardized benefit packages (not competitive).
