Pros
- Leadership (especially in Performance and Availability R&D) is best of class. - Progressive technical talent specializing in SaaS and PaaS has been acquired. - BMC as a business is well run and efficient, and compares far better in this regard than other companies of a similar size.
Cons
- IT Security policy is antiquated, driven by customer policy, and inhibits remote work, especially for modern DevOps workflows that support R&D. - Tech culture for some groups is in need of an overhaul (don't let this deter you, WE NEED YOU, to help us change!) - BMC legal's position on IP and OpenSource is antiquated and severely inhibits the culture and marketing opportunities the movement presents (We are trying to change this, WE NEED YOUR HELP!)
