Pros
Mostly friendly culture among employees Exposure to some interesting areas of law
Cons
A LOT of micromanaging. After speaking to other former colleagues, it seems this is encouraged among team leads and managers. Bullying by managers is ignored. They don’t want to create a culture of trust and friendship. There is a way to manage people and this is not the way. They do not treat employees in line with other market competitors no matter how much they try to say otherwise. Salary is embarrassingly low compared to the same role at two other major firms. During covid, employees were told we couldn’t come into the office to collect a screen etc or other equipment. Other companies were giving employees a contribution towards office equipment for home use. By the time BM finally offered this almost 2 years later, people had already bought equipment themselves so it was pointless. But at least they can say they offered(!) There is zero trust. You feel as if you have to justify PTO, no such thing as leaving early to accommodate an appointment (unless you are management). It’s tiring. I honestly think they do not care about the high turnover.
