Lied to about job position - Anonymous employee Big Group Employee Review

Was told the job was a perm role so I verbally accepted the offer and the start date. I kept being told contract was coming, even once I had started working for Big Group. Thought it was a bit odd that I was excluded from company social events too. Then, 3 months later, still no contract and told there was now no budget for my role and that I had to leave with 2 weeks notice. It was like I was lied to the whole time and that they really wanted a contractor but on a perm salary as it’s much lower. Felt horribly taken advantage of and lied to.
