Pros
The pay is decent, that is about it. Previously, there was support, training, work-life balance, bonuses, and joy among coworkers.
Cons
There was a HUGE uproar when they gave all levels a 30%+ raise EXCEPT level 2 investigators, who got zilch. THEN they send out some email saying "we pay more than the required" ...*however*... everyone is figuring out they gave everyone a raise so they would not have to backpay us to 11/21... So that is fun. Work life balance is GONE. If you take a day or two for *anything* they expect you to be able to work before or after, because aCdS aRe iMpOrTaNt. Now that we are going back to the field, the phrase "watch your time" is being overused. They expect the same production as work at home and no commute, as a 100mile commute. Check the clearance jobs blog for more details on that disaster, I read a great break down of one investigators experience with the sudden back to the field change. The health insurance sucks. The 401k sucks. They definitely are NOT there for you, and if you have any negative effect on their bottom line, you will, without a doubt, be put on leave without pay, affectionately termed "leave of absence" Oh, and don't you dare ask for a lateral transfer, or to go to a different department so it aligns with your life better, or lets you live a better life.
