Pros

One of the few jobs with a pension. Good for people with excellent interpersonal skills. No overnight shifts. No Sundays. Statutory holidays off. Inclusive environment (gays can be openly gay, the teller line often looks like the United Nations) The glass ceiling is for most women with children not until you get to the district manager level.

Cons

Outdated badly maintained technology and internal programs. Very poor training "trial by fire" . Do not expect the job to be 9 to 5 many financial service representative start at 8 work as late as 7:30 and often work saturdays. You will need to supplement your pension as it has an accrual rate of 0.8% per year compared to government/teacher of 2% per year.
