Pros

Boost to CV, learn new things, progression and pay rises, everyone is willing to help (mainly as it's easier to help than sort problems by things being done wrong!) received a payrise after 7 months, bonus wasn't great after tax though

Cons

Long hours and no overtime pay, be expected to work through lunch, stressful work and high workload, bad training-no formal training just expected to watch others work and be taught by colleagues who are busy. people are friendly but can also be quite 'cliquey', disorganized in terms of making sure systems ect are ready for new starts, those that are promoted seem to have much more responsibility and extra work

Pros

Hybrid schedule, supportive managers, opportunities

Cons

Once you’re in, comp basically plateaus. Layoffs are happening across the board, which tends to be the full-time culture of citi. The vibe is very much “run lean” until something actually breaks, and only then consider adding headcount. You have to be intentional about protecting your work-life balance, because the implicit expectation is that you’re always on—24/7, 365—without the support of a properly staffed team.
