Pros

Great Benefits - Health Insurance is outstanding, 401K still matches at 4% Interesting Work - You are working on some of the biggest problems in business today Good Work/Life Balance - At least in my part of the organization anyway (front-end consumer) Genuinely nice people - Again, can't speak for all the organization (its huge) but I found most people to genuinely nice and helpful

Cons

No Advancement Opportunities - The place has officially died for any sort of advancement opportunity Schizophrenic Personality - The organization may decide to react one way then completely change its mind in six months Large Bureaucracy - Lots of COE (Centers of Excellence, more commonly known as functions outside Citi, ie silos) that do not work well together or at all. Slow to Move - Getting anything done in the organizations takes a Herculean effort most times

Pros

Hybrid schedule, supportive managers, opportunities

Cons

Once you’re in, comp basically plateaus. Layoffs are happening across the board, which tends to be the full-time culture of citi. The vibe is very much “run lean” until something actually breaks, and only then consider adding headcount. You have to be intentional about protecting your work-life balance, because the implicit expectation is that you’re always on—24/7, 365—without the support of a properly staffed team.
