Pros

In addition to the great discount, pay, health and the connections made at the Manhattan location my time at Coach was made worthwhile by the dedication given to elevating the brand to be a top competitor in against luxury brands and established RTW brands. They really invested in the training of their employees and it showed by the appreciation our clients showed us.

Cons

I applied to the HQ office more than once and was always rejected by store management to pass my resume along. Although I was more than qualified and HR clearly took an interest in at least interviewing me the SM take too much power in controlling the future of employees by keeping them at the store level for personal gain. The Coach team at ALL levels from CEO down to Global Customer Experience take their time to educate and nourish their employees with top knowledge of the industry and the brand. Unfortunately I had to leave the brand with a heavy heart because I didn't see a future for myself outside of the retail level. Especially heartbreaking when you know every company leader and their spouse by first name and you meet entry level employees at the corporate level who know nothing of what the brand has accomplished in the past 3 years.

Pros

- fast paced days with lots of client interaction and team building moments - fun product dropped monthly with opportunities to be the first to own popular drops - opportunities to grow* - a great starting place to learn how to provide an elevated shopping experience and learn how to build a client book

Cons

- * Opportunities to grow only present themselves if you have a positive relationship with the management team and/or the DM - Corporate tends to lead on candidates and promise advancements or change verbally but little is done to correct behavior or advance within the company - Your store manager will determine whether the team is harmonious and fair, can be a double edged sword - you will be asked to do tasks or take on projects outside of your position with no additional compensation. It will be heavily frowned upon to decline said opportunities and tended to lead to being denied advancements - during ICE activities in the city, Coach refused to make a statement and or provide guidelines to how we as a store should respond. Associates were punished for absences related back to ICE activities
