On the commercial side of the business, there were some truly Machiavellian machinations going on. Due to the economic downturn and challenges in the media industry, many people were willing to stab each other in the back to get promotions and compete for career progression in an environment of diminishing opportunities. Recruitment was stagnant and very inward-looking.
