Pros
The Flexibility that I have is great. I appreciate the option to work from home. I love what I'm doing and I'm usually given the opportunity to be successful.
Cons
The company goes through reorganizations more than any place I have ever worked. Don't get comfortable with your leadership because it will change at least one time in a year. In my department, they have promoted someone into a manager role (who I now report ) because she had been at Anthem for a long time and she was good at her job. She has no leadership skills and it's difficult to have gone from the best leader ever to a manager who can't lead. It's very frustrating. And this all came about because of the "OE" initiative that the CHRO decided we needed to go through which eliminated my boss' position (in my opinion, one of the best leaders at Anthem.) And after having done a "Total Rewards Survey" they have given us some minimal "benefits" such as a mobile site and "free" maintenance drugs (although allergy and the most prescribed arthritis drug are not on the list, nor is thyroid meds or acid reflux prescription drugs) but they have decreased actual benefits. They communicate it to be "YAY, we are giving you these things" but in reality, they are giving us MUCH less than they are taking away. I see a markedly difference since Joe Swedish and his posse were hired in the satisfaction of my colleagues.
