      Pros

      Relaxed and friendly atmosphere. The ability to work with other groups is there if you make the effort.

      Cons

      Only allowed to be there 9 years, then you must leave. The training and development aspects were very limited, a major flaw if you want to develop mulitiple skills. Most projects had money contrainsts so could an anxious wait to see if your contract would get extended or not.

      You have opportunities to work with top talents in the field of bioinformatics.

      Cons

      Be aware of the "nine year rule" - people have to move on from EBI after serving there for 9 years. This is really good and bad.

      Pros

      One of the best places to work on cutting edge computational biology research. Great diversity and culture.

      Cons

      A little bit isolated from the nearest city, Cambridge, but not much of a problem since they have a shuttle that runs very smoothly every day.
