Pros

Personal growth opportunities with managing frontline employees. Fun Co-Workers

Cons

no work life balance; even when you're on vacation your phone will ring and you'll be sent many texts. 24/7 on call. You will get phone calls anywhere from 1:30am to 11pm and hundreds of texts in between. The company does not give you a work phone so your personal number is used and abused by hundreds of people and businesses. No frontline support from HQ leadership, 14 hour days consistently, no real timeline to promote even if you're deemed promotable. In the many years I have been with the company in the role we were never fully staffed and it was very difficult to manage. Bonuses are very difficult to achieve with little relief or help. Frontline is unmotivated and doesn't want to work, when you have bad apples that need to be let go from the company HR will always take their side and it will be a painful 3-6 month process where you as the manager does all the work and takes all the blame. Not worth the pay or time time demand unless you are single and love to work 24/7 especially during all major holidays.

Pros

No boss breathing down your back all day.

Cons

No control over force outs. Management forces out product to the market that may not necessarily be needed or fit in the stores. Always have to sell more than the previous year to keep up with sales goals.
