Does not care about you, or your family. - Claims Adjuster GEICO Employee Review

Pros

Decent salary, nice coworkers, sometimes free lunch

Cons

This pandemic has revealed Geico's true colors. Your health and safety does not matter unless you meet the qualified metrics - those who do not are required to return to the office, regardless of their health issues. If you don't like it, get an FML. If you can't, too bad. I only needed a single point to get the metric, and they still refused. Meanwhile cases are soaring, and I am risking my high-risk family's life every day by going into the office, where I have caught the people in charge of cleaning the office not wearing masks. I seriously loved working here. I seriously tried my hardest to keep my metrics up, but the workload vs. the inbound calls created a perfect storm. I spoke to HR about my worries, and they basically told me they were following CDC guidelines. Geico does not care about you - they only care about control.

Pros

Strong opportunities for career growth Many people are willing to mentor and support others without expecting anything in return Supportive culture, even from people who may not know you personally Increased focus on education and development, especially for leaders More company activities at the local office, which has been a welcome change Fun associate engagement opportunities like escape rooms, art activities, games, and food events So many opportunities for recognition

Cons

There are still some areas where the company appears to be rebuilding trust and confidence Change is noticeable and appreciated, but some improvements are still in progress Feedback has clearly helped shape recent changes, and it will be good to see that progress continue
