Lots of micromanagement in every position. Always adding metrics to hit, never removing old ones. - Auto Damage Field Adjuster GEICO Employee Review

Pros

Flexible hours- You get to make your own schedule to a certain extent. Most AD Adjusters are provided a company car and are able to use it for personal use- always with free gas and insurance Benefits are good

Cons

Management always finds a new metric, new goal, or new job responsibility to add, but never removes any. Over time this have become very draining and irritating. Handling shady/dishonest shops gets really old, really quickly. Being the front, face to face contact for customers has its perks, but in the insurance industry it always seems there are more bitter, angry people than smiling faces. This takes its toll on any worker. The salary is some of the lowest in the industry, while the work load is among the highest

Pros

Interesting problems to work on. Good benefits. Decent pay.

Cons

Managers will gaslight you and upper leadership is constantly changing, so expect projects you're working on to be thrown out every 6 months. Many people burn out and quit after some time and are never back filled, so you'll be expected to take on their workload. Some of my colleagues were working 80 hour work weeks to keep up with the work load and yet told they were not performing well enough. There also wasn't much diversity.
