Pros

In the past they offered a ladder for people to get into tech industry. However I very much doubt that this is still the case

Cons

- Company is doing very poorly financially. They have recently made around 15 people redundant. - Very high turnover. There are almost no people who have worked there for 5+ years which are not directors - Literally no perks other than salary, and the few that we have are being stripped away (like hybrid working). The wages are advertised as fairly low (around 25k ish) but this is before the so called 'training deductions' - which means that a lot of people start on 20k which in London is unliveable. - Very poor job security - Geeks outsources a lot of their workforce to developing countries where they pay a fraction of UK salary (we are talking around £200 - 500 per month). This results in some people just being sacked overnight with their job being taken over by remote worker. - False positivity everywhere - people will smile and talk to you in a super friendly way - and then not hesitate to turn around and coldly sack you ten minutes later - 'Yes man' attitude everywhere - where the directors have cherry picked the staff that only agrees with them and fired anyone who dares to disagree with their way of doing things - Very incompetent and rigid management. Some people will be doing nothing all day, and others will be extremely overworked. The people that know that (if there are any) don't care, and people who care don't know. - The four so called 'office dogs' are unsufferably badly trained, and keep loudly barking during client calls which is extremely unprofessional

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback with us. We genuinely appreciate your input as it helps us strive for continuous improvement. Regarding compensation and benefits, none have been removed, and salaries are role-dependent. Entry-level salaries, such as the one you mentioned, are typical for trainees. As individuals progress in their roles, their compensation may adjust accordingly. Diversity and inclusion are fundamental values at Geeks. We strive to create an inclusive environment that embraces diverse perspectives. Employment decisions are based on performance and alignment with our values, not diversity metrics. Positivity is essential in our workplace culture, but it's distinct from performance. A positive attitude enhances communication and fosters collaboration. We believe in constructive feedback and support managers who approach performance discussions with positivity and encouragement. Each role at Geeks comes with unique responsibilities. While some may require desk-bound tasks, others involve more interaction with stakeholders. Regardless of the nature of their work, all team members contribute diligently toward achieving our collective goals.
