I worked at Gensler for several years at one of the larger offices, NY and LA being the largest approx 600 people in these offices pre COVID-19 and got to know the big players and typical office politics of a company this size. So what to expect??
-Lot's of favoritism.
-Your hustle means nothing unless studio heads want to acknowledge you.
-Becoming an Associate, you may as well hire a PR firm to bang a gong in your name. I've seen people work two years get associates. I also have seen people ten years and suck it up better luck next year, buddy. Its who you know not what you do. Some people may take offense to this, but in the larger scheme, that's the Gensler worker politics. Adapt quickly, sink or swim.
