Pros

Great people - but how long for?

Cons

This was a great place to work, especially the last couple of years the culture has been so good. But the recent decision to force everyone back 5 days a week to the office (with very little explanation or advanced warning) has destroyed morale. Gensler has been very public in singing the praises of hybrid work, which makes this a bitter pill to swallow. They have stirred so much anger and resentment with this decision - which feels like a betrayal. Contrary to public appearance, this is not a progressive, flexible, forward-thinking place to work. They have shown their true colours - regressive, with no regard for neurodiversity, wellbeing, work/life balance, or their employees' needs.

Pros

Felt a bit like being back at university in regards to the desig aspect of work.

Cons

Competition with fellow "team mates" back stabbing. Horrible American cooperation style practice. Make you work stupid stupid stupid long hours. Absolutely horrible experience!!

Pros

Business orientated design firm, teaches good design through a client focused lens, Applicable skills to bring to many industries for those in early career stages looking for a broad base from which to grow and learn.

Cons

In April a directive came from our CEO to return to 5 days in the office, which has been implemented for two weeks now. This outdated model goes against our own research, has removed the last glimmer of a work life balance for many, and is already causing issues with retention and burn out. The path for progression is unclear, salary benchmarking and visibility is poor. Gensler follows the low salary trend, wide spread throughout the design industry. This is not a place for ‘wallflowers’. Those that shout the loudest are rewarded, while hard working quieter individuals are often overlooked.
