Pros
Colleagues are great. The pay is very competitive. The workplace is very diverse and inclusive. Hotels touch a lot of different career paths so it can be a good place to start a career in any field with a solid level of job security. Benefits include employee stock purchasing plan, and 401K with match.
Cons
Management may take advantage of the familial feel to push colleagues to work unsustainable hours. Short staffing is a constant issue to the point that career mobility stagnates because colleagues are "hard to replace". If you work in front desk or operations your work/life balance may suffer tremendously. I have been told that it wouldn't be fair for me to have Sundays off for church despite my job application showing that availability.
