IBM is in the cutting edge of rolling out technology solutions to meet business challenges. Whatever IBM comes out with like eBusiness, Information on Demand, Websphere, etc. is copied by the competition, but IBM is always ahead of the game. The level of technical competence is high in the right pockets, which ensures that they could always execute with the right people on the team as members or SMEs.
Cons
There is an incredible amount of overhead between the people who do the work and the level of associate partners, partners, regional managers, practice leads, practice managers, industry leads, industry VPs, competency VP, etc in the Services area. I would generate about $385,000-$555,000 every year in consulting revenue for the company, but my bonuses and raises were a joke for the kind of contribution I made to the company. The overhead in Services must be addressed.
