Pros
I was with the editorial team; my manager was fantastic and so were the senior managers. In terms of office politics the company was very clean and there was little to worry about. Work time was very flexible and as long as you did your work, nobody micromanaged your work hours, which was great. The degree of trust with this company was massive and we had no firewalls on our laptops. Managers trusted you to do your work and be accountable to your portfolios. There were very clear systems in place and fantastic protocols to follow, which made it a lot easier for those onboarding. Training was thorough and reporting officers kind and caring.
Cons
People tend to be very clique-ish and it can be hard to break into a group. Other than that it was a great place to work. If you enjoy travelling a lot, it might not be a good idea to join the editorial team as the nature of the work makes it difficult to take leave often. They do have a week off at the end of December so you can definitely travel still, just not as regularly as you possibly could with a different job. No bonus so do take note when negotiating remuneration.
