Pros
Higher pay as compare to local labor market rate. Core company values is to care for the people and their families, which is one of the reason why I joined the company.
Cons
The company uphold the values stringently to the staff but it is not consistently observed at management level. For example, the senior leaders did not make tangible initiatives to help the staff during the pandemic. The staff has to constantly "fight for" small gestures of care from the company like sending face masks, alcohol, etc. Took them months and a poor employee survey rating before action took place. Some policies are created by small minds junior management like demerits for every single mistake a staff did without accountability of their manager. It's also very easy to spot biases and political alliances that affects day-to-day work and career progression of staff. And worse, this is the only company that tells me to be more loyal to the management vs my direct reports; and the staff knows about it for years. The staff are staying because they couldn't find a job with equal or higher salary offer at the skill set they have. This makes the work environment very stressful even when the job is relatively easy.
