Pros

Decent pay, however it's not great when considering hours worked 11 hours per day but paid for 7

Cons

Poorly maintained vans, very dirty and unroadworthy when given to you. Bonus scheme is a con, you rarely get it as part of it is team based & it is based off a number of things such as jobs per day, the jobs per day is unachievable with all the certs/home checker/red tape 20-35 mins on hold to planners when you get a no access or need to rebook a job in front of tennant which Is embarrassing.lots of no access!!! No van stock given to you, power tools in poor condition. full pipe not given. Under staffed in every department due to high turnover of staff. 3 hours travelling per day for 80% of staff because jobs aint planned correctly. You will be working in central Birmingham!!! they tell you different in interview. you will have to pay parking tickets when your forced to work in the city center

It’s very disappointing to read about your concerns and we’re keen to discuss these further with you. We know that delivering a first-class repairs and maintenance service is really important to our tenants so it’s also important to us that our colleagues have the support they need, with tools and a working environment that enable us to achieve this. We recognise there are areas we can improve and having listened to colleague feedback we’re already making changes to support and increase resource in this area. To talk to us about this and share your views and ideas with us directly please email Director of Repairs and Maintenance, James Watkins (James.watkins@midlandheart.org.uk).

Thank you for sharing your comments. We’re delighted to hear you enjoyed being part of our team and benefited from the work we’ve done to create a positive working environment for all colleagues. That’s something also recognised on a national scale this year with us being placed in the top 50 large companies to work for by Best Companies.

Thank you for sharing your feedback with us and for recognising the work we’ve been doing to collaborate with our colleagues to continue building inclusive working environment where everyone feels supported to thrive in their career. Along with providing specialist training for our managers so they are well equipped to support their teams, we seek regular feedback through our employee body, our Colleague Champions, who are always on hand to listen to feedback from colleagues and share with senior leaders. We also encourage colleagues to take part in our annual b-heard survey, and we’re delighted to say we were named by Best Companies as one of the top 50 large companies in the UK to work for in 2023 based on their feedback in our most recent survey. Following the feedback, we’ve launched our Your Voice in Action campaign, continuing to take action on the important issues that matter to our colleagues as highlighted in the survey. We’re always open to new ideas on how we can develop our offering and working environment, and we’d encourage you to share any ideas with us by emailing AskHR@MidlandHeart.org.uk.
