Pros

live in free on the camp where I work

Cons

Employ useless people as managers who are "friends" but cannot do ANYTHING. People who can do the job get passed over. Wages are bad- they bang on that we dont pay tax, but 39hours a week and open every day of the year gets you £13500. Staff include thieves, drunks an people who are in incestuous relationships - you couldn't make it up.

Pros

I was based in Germany, so had free accommodation in old army blocks and my wage was tax free.

Cons

Nobody really knew who managed us, we only occasionally saw a senior manager. Wages were terribly low for the work I did and there was no social aspect at all, you worked and went home. When I called in sick once in the 5 years I worked there, my manager sent someone to my block to see if I was actually sick or faking it. I knew my job inside out and better than anyone, I had gold stars, but when my assistant manager job came open, I was snubbed and someone externally was put in with place to do the role, as they knew the manager and were friends.
