When I joined 2-3 years ago, this company was the best I had ever worked at. I fully intended on spending the rest of my career here.
Since then, workload has increased multiple times over the passed couple of years but yet the pay has stayed the same. The current work and home life balance is abysmal, we are given next to no time to complete meter or EV installs and every second of our day is taken up by work, no time for breaks or lunch. We are also receiving multiple metering jobs as well as EV installs in a day, with high management seemingly having no clue as to how much time and effort is required to complete this work. Currently nearly every engineer you speak to is sick and fed up and demands change, but no one from management seems to listen.
It used to be one of octopus’s main focuses, that its employees were happy and enjoyed their job and in turn that happiness would flow through to our great customer experience but that customer experience seems to have taken a back seat. As the company has grown, it is quickly becoming just like every other energy company, when octopus promised they never would!
