Thank you for sharing that you’ve had good experiences around management being flexible and that our staff are great to work alongside. We really do believe in a culture where your personality isn’t left at the door and this then allows people to want to be able to be themselves at work and hopefully enjoy it.
In regards to your comments around recruiting management, we hold a formal process for all positions. Through this discovery day whether that be for a Team Leader or Operations Manager, all candidates are interviewed and scored in a process by non-biased managers who manage in other offices or sites.
I want to be very honest and transparent here in stating we absolutely do have HR here at Octopus, each and every manager is your HR team. We believe having your management team as your HR means they know more about you and can support you in a more personal way, opposed to a team that doesn't see your day to day and understand the impact you have on the business, making high level decisions for you. In regards to your specific comment around grievances raised against members, without further context or information this is really hard for me to understand the situation. I would like a chance to speak about this situation in more detail to understand fully what this means to you.
