Pros

* Some nice projects and teams * WFH is nice if that's your thing * Lots of training materials and sessions * Far, far better than being at a 'big consultancy' * Nice salary and pension for the location

Cons

* Limited range of clients and staff seemingly on the bench for extended periods * Difficult to engage in group sessions and activities if you are on a busy project. Seeing all the activities going on in Teams whilst you could be on a stressful project is not fun to say the least * Clients using older more conservative technology choices (Jenkins , Java, Spring,...) Felt like going back to 2010 again * Microsoft Teams 🤮

Thanks for your feedback. We look for variety in our client base, both in terms of our impact and the type of work we have available for our consultants. We’re open to new suggestions from our consultants about the type of work we seek out. We have recently added 12 new clients across a number of different industries and who use a range of technologies. Our PEEPs who support our consultants’ wellbeing and development are also available to discuss career aspirations and try to support our people to deliver work that they find engaging and impactful. We’re committed to giving our people the best experience we can. We ensure engagement activities are recorded to try to fit with people’s schedules and ensure everyone has access. We’re glad that you enjoyed the teams you were part of and felt supported with your training materials.

Open culture, strong benefits package nice people

Progression can be difficult to achieve even when your performance is recognised to be strong, this may change as the company grows in the coming years.

Nothing at all to be honest

Was offered a role and signed my contract with Opencast as normal. They initially delayed my start date by a few weeks which eventually turned into serveral months without an explanation. I chased the HR team on a weekly basis to ask what was causing the delays but there was a lack of communication. They repeatedly misinformed me and misled me to believe that the delays were due to a delay in getting equipment. After several torturous months they turned around and told me that the role I had received a job offer for was no longer available. I had many offers on the table at the time of accepting this role with Opencast and as a result I am now back at square one - searching for a job.
