Great place to work, but plenty of room for improvement - Software Developer Paycom Employee Review

Pros

Pay and benefits are great, clearly defined path to promotions and increased pay. Catered lunches are convenient and cheap. Coworkers are extremely friendly, smart, and helpful. If you have any trouble with something, just ask your team and you will get very helpful answers. Company is growing at a fast but steady pace. On-site gym with free fitness programs and sports leagues available. Recruiting/hiring process was very smooth and easy to navigate.

Cons

The work can be highly stressful as management adds pressure to release projects on arbitrary deadlines, which leads to more focus on quantity over quality. Communication to employees could improve, especially in development. Significant changes are made with little communication, causing confusion and uncertainty. Traffic at the end of the day is frustrating as everyone leaves at once. Quality of lunches have gone down over the years. Employees are a bit wasteful on Styrofoam cups, especially since they give us so many reusable cups.

Pros

The work we do is challenging but is satisfying. $4 dollar lunches are great and I enjoy the people and managers I work with. We have gone through changes, but the changes are worth it and the tools we are provided keep us successful. The salary is great and top level, highly recommend working here if you love a challenge. I promise you’ll never be bored.

Cons

The workload and hours can be heavy at times, but the long-term gratification is worth it. Paycom is about long-term investment, and it requires patience and perseverance but it’s worth it, if you are strong enough.

Pros

Excellent benefits. The $1 health insurance and $0 medical bills when partnering with ZERO are hard to beat. $4 lunches daily The company does a good job recognizing and celebrating high performers. Personally, I’ve always felt appreciated for the work I do. Good workplace culture with frequent employee appreciation initiatives.

Cons

The workload has increased significantly over the past few years, but compensation hasn’t kept pace for everyone. Pay increases don’t always seem consistent across employees, even when workloads are similar. While top performers receive recognition, some employees may feel overlooked or underappreciated. The pace can become overwhelming during busy periods due to the growing workload and the department continuing to downsize.
